So far, so good.

I am a few chapters into the book now and it seems really good. I was hooked from the first chapter. I like the amount of imagery used and the point of view is interesting. It was easy to tell what the book was about as soon as I read the first page. This feels like a book I would read on my own.

Ive finished the book and I share the same viewpoint as you. I was hooked from the first chapter also. I feel if you were hooked by the first chapter you will not be able to put the book down. I felt that the book was very well written because as I was reading the book I could visualize every moment that went on.

I agree with both of you but the author over uses imagery. She piles on descriptions of things that really don't aid the plot nor give the reader a better understanding of the environment.

I agree with everything said in the above posts, and judging by what you all said I realize that I was not the only person who thought the use of imagery was a bit over the top, but I know I personally enjoyed other aspects of the book. One thing that I really enjoyed about the whole book is how the way the book was written it was almost like a cross between a new version of the fairy tale Little Red Riding Hood with a little bit of a feel of Twilight.
